Originally planned for release this year, Homefront: The Revolution has been delayed to 2016—publisher Deep Silver has announced.
The game, which had previously been in the hands of THQ and defunct studio Crytek UK, swapped publishers (and developers) when Deep Silver acquired the rights to the game and the Homefront license.
The delay follows the game’s transition to its development at Dambuster Studios this year.
"Dambuster Studios are an extraordinarily talented group," said Deep Silver CEO Dr. Klemens Kundratitz. "We are giving the team every opportunity to turn Homefront: The Revolution into a best-selling title, and have set a 2016 release date to provide them the time they need to achieve this. You can expect to hear more about the game later this year."
"We are excited that Deep Silver's acquisition of the Homefront IP and assets from Crytek has allowed development of Homefront: The Revolution to continue with minimum disruption," said Hasit Zala. "The team here believes we are working on something truly special."
Likewise, the Twitter account stated the following:

Earlier this year, the studios involved in the game's development stated that it was not 'vaporware' as many were suggesting.
The game is slated for release on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 when it comes out.
