We have a new gameplay video for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, made for PAX East and narrated by senior level designer Peter Gelencser. The video shows Geralt picking up a side quest to check on a missing caravan, to end up hunting a wyvern.
You can use a magic spell to temporarily slow down time for your enemies, basically bullet time in this fantasy setting. This is something you can pick up as you earn experience.
Any time you’re outside, you can always whistle and a horse will arrive at your beck and call. It’s a great form of fast travel.
You can use Witcher mutations to track down targets, a useful skill for side quests.
When facing a formidable opponent, such as a Wyvern, you will want to make some quick preparations. In this situation, Geralt used an oil to enhance his sword’s damage potential.
You will also want to play deliberately, as just mashing buttons can be costly. For the wyvern, you want to keep your distance and watch for special attacks.
Getting back to magic, they have powerful effects, but also have cool down periods, so you can’t just spam enemies with them. You can level them up to increase power and reduce cool down periods.
Once you’ve taken down a monster, always remember to pick up your trophy, and go back to the village to collect your reward.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on May 19, 2015, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
