Pokemon Company has revealed a new trailer for upcoming film Pokemon XY The Movie – The Adchdjinni of the Rings.
Don’t be confused by the title, as this 18th Pokemon movie uses some Pokemon XY characters (from the current cartoon), but also usesPokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire lore. The portals from the ORAS games, along with Primal Groudon, Primal Kyogre and a shiny Mega Rayquaza, are figuring in the movie, as well as Hoopa, who will actually be the starring Pokemon.
The movie was revealed December of last year, but it’s only now that Pokemon Company is sharing details on the story, albeit still teasing small bits of it. A mysterious man (the Traveler) touches a small bottle on the cliffs, and this cuts to a scene where Hoopa meets Ash and his friends. We then see legendary Pokemon Groudon, Palkia, Giratina, and Dialga attacking a city, and Hoopa throwing up and opening portals to stop them. The trailer ends with Arceus’ arrival and Hoopa seemingly getting possessed.
We also have pictures of new characters to be introduced in the movie. Mary, Barza, and the Traveler all look the part of the Three Magi, but what connection they have to the story and whether they are friends or foes have yet to be revealed.
