ArenaNet is adding some interesting new features to the camera for Guild Wars 2, including the much requested first person perspective.
There will be zero restrictions to using the first person camera, so whether you’re walking, running, jumping, attacking, or standing in place, you can play the whole game this way.
The second most requested feature is the field of view slider. You will get full control of how much bigger or smaller your view is relative to your character.
The position slider will be split between horizontal and vertical positions. The horizontal slider lets you offset the camera left and right, and you can choose an over the shoulder view to keep the center clear. The vertical slider lets you set the maximum height your camera can go at the farthest distance it can be from the player character. The camera height auto adjusts to the character’s position so that he/she is always onscreen.
To give norn and asura players proverbial equal footing, the camera now defaults on a characters head. In case you are used to the previous camera movements, you can toggle this camera position so that it is consistent relative to the character’s feet.
Lastly, there will be a collision sensitivity setting to adjust when camera snaps in relative to a character’s proximity to trees, walls, etc.
