Bravely Second End Layer will see the return of the Streetpassing minigame introduced in Bravely Default.
With that Streetpass minigame, you will be able to send and receive enemies with other players. This time, instead of dealing with Nemeses, you will have to face Demon Kings, in Magnolia’s hometown, the moon. Defeating these kings will reward you in rare items. The Demon Kings are grotesque, undead animals, including a sea urchin, butterfly fish, and a swan.
You can upgrade your moonbase over time, by equipping yourself with weapons called Busterships. You only get one shot for your Bustership by default, but your friends can give you more Busterships. For this to work, the people you Streetpass need to upload a special that is specific to the character you are playing. You can also upgrade Busterships and bombard Demon Kings with them to lower their level, and also to lower their cool down duration period.
Square Enix also explained a special move system. Special moves are completely separate from abilities, and instead of consuming MP, they can be executed when you meet certain conditions. Each weapon has four special moves each. While you execute a special move, you will get a status effect, and even some special accompanying music. These will all be customizable at your moon base.
Bravely Second is slated for release in Japan on April 23, 2015 for Nintendo 3DS. You can see a gallery of the Demon Kings, a Bustership, as well as some costumes.
