Like many other games of this generation, The Witcher 3 is set to run at a speed of 30FPS on consoles, in contrast to its unlimited FPS on the PC, due to less powerful hardware. That being said, the developer of the game doesn't believe FPS is everything and explains why it didn't set the goal of making the game run at 60FPS on console hardware.
The simple explanation is that the studio has more important considerations to make beyond framerate. Here's what the game's Senior Art Producer had to say on the matter.
“We don’t think like that,” said MichaÅ‚ KrzemiÅ„ski in an upcoming interview with GamingBolt.
“When you have a vision to create an RPG that will leave a long lasting impression, you don’t think in terms of resolution or frame rate. You think of adventure, you think of living worlds, and the stuff you’ll be able to do in that world.
“Technical aspects are kind of secondary, which of course doesn’t mean that we don’t want the graphics to be awesome,” he said.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set for release in May for the PC, Xbox One and PS4.
