BioWare co-founder Dr. Greg Zeschuk has returned to video games as chairman of mobile and augmented reality app maker Biba, GamesIndustry reports.
The Vancouver-based studio's apps are designed to work with playground equipment and can be used by parents for "refereed play".
“Biba’s mobile games designed for outdoor play are just a breath of fresh air,” Zeschuk commented.
“PlayPower and Biba are creating a new category, an inventive way to blend our new media habits with the health benefits and joy of active outdoor play. I am inspired by the category as a game designer and father.”
GamesIndustry says the first series of games will portray playgrounds as “wrecked robot spaceships for kids ages 3-9,” which children will be able to explore with a virtual companion.
Zeschuk and fellow BioWare founder Dr. Ray Muzyka left BioWare in 2012.
