Dragon Ball XenoVerse: Watch Custom Character Creator In Action

February 11, 2015 by Ryan Parreno

There are several races to choose from, with extensive customizable options, and the ability to level up.

This new video gives a quick look at character customization in Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The video comes to us courtesy of YouTuber krypto9095, whom you can subscribe to here.

You will be able to create Humans, Saiyans, Majins, Namekians, and creatures in Frieza’s Race. Because Namekians and Frieza’s race have no known females, these are the only two races where you can’t play as a female. Of course, no female Majins are known to exist, but considering the conditions that create Majins, we know that this is possible.

Furthermore, you will be able to customize Namekians, Saiyans, and members of Frieza’s Race to appear in different power levels, with no effects on their stats. So for example, your character can look like a Super Saiyan 2, a Great Namek, or a True Form Frieza from the onset of the game, and still have to build up their stats.

Custom options are extensive. You get to change costumes, hair, skin color, etc. You can even change how the eyes and pupils are drawn, based on how Akira Toriyama and Bird Studio have rendered them throughout the years.

Each race is treated as a different class, with unique traits. For example, Saiyans have low health and high attack power, which increases when they are revived. Namekians have great healing when they use items, and their regenerative abilities increase when their health is at their lowest.

As you may have guessed, your custom character can gain experience and level up. You can even apprentice with original Dragon Ball characters to get their costumes and special moves.

Watch the short video above to get a look at a custom character being created on the fly. Dragon Ball Xenoverse will be released on Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on February 24.
