Update: Rebellion has reached out to us to clarify what they meant. It would appear that custom PS4 backgrounds are NOT coming in a future update.
Sorry Playstation gamers, I’m afraid we’re just as in the dark as you are about the next PS4 update! This is what we get for being organised!
When we were putting together our wishlist for ZombieArmy.com we thought custom console themes would be a cool giveaway.
Lo-and-behold PS4 ‘custom themes’ came out but didn’t include the ability to add custom backgrounds (which we’d already been working on), so we probably do need to tweak the wording in the website to be a bit clearer.
At least, if they do announce custom backgrounds we’ll be the first dev to have them ready. Your move Sony!
Anyway, if you’d like some beautiful Xbox One, smartphone, desktop and (hopefully future-proof) PS4 backgrounds, AND some exclusive Zombie Army Trilogy MP3s, head to ZombieArmy.comand sign up to the newsletter!
Zombie Army Trilogy developer Rebellion appears to have confirmed an unannounced future PS4 feature, custom backgrounds.
On the game's website there's a page offering backgrounds for various devices including mobile, PC, and consoles. The reference to the unannounced feature states:
"Note for PS4 users: The ability to set a background should be available in an upcoming System Software update."
PS4 owners can currently choose the background colour or download a theme from the PlayStation Store but do not have the option to add a custom background image as Xbox One owners have been able to for some time.
Sony has not currently detailed future system updates or confirmed customisable backgrounds.
The Zombie Army Trilogy is set for release early this year on PC and consoles with new features and improved graphics.
