The number of players to engage in the beta of Battlefield Hardline, the upcoming first-person shooter from EA Games, has surpassed 6 million, Visceral Games’ Steve Papoutsis announced on Twitter.
The number of registered users broke records, beating even Destiny’s numbers, which had 4.6 million registered players on its console beta.
Unlike Destiny, which was released only on consoles, Battlefield Hardline has the benefit of being platform-agnostic, releasing on the PC as well as current-gen and last-gen consoles.
The game’s beta began on Tuesday, February 3 across major territories, and is expected to end tonight. It is available on PC via Origin, the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Battlefield Hardline releases on March 17 in the US and on March 20 in the UK on Origin for the previously mentioned platforms.
Battlefield Hardline has been confirmed to use its own version of Battlelog, like its predecessors Battlefield 3 and 4.
