Just last week we wrote that Bethesda Softworks might be revealing Fallout 4 at PAX East. This information, supplemented by MrMattyPlays and his Youtube videos, has had a few twists over the past few days.
Pete Hines, vice president at Bethesda Softworks, recently tweeted to fans that he is not sure that he will be able to make it to PAX East. Obviously, this doesn't remove the announcement of Fallout 4 from the equation entirely, but it's very unlikely that it will happen unless Hines is present. In addition to being the vice president of Bethesda Softworks, he's also in charge of their public relations division. Unless Hines has put someone in charge of announcing something as big as Fallout 4 while he's not there, we probably won't be getting a Fallout 4 announcement at PAX East.
All of this said, Hines hasn't yet made clear whether or not he's actually going to make it to the expo. This could all be a ploy by the developer to throw us and fans off the scent of a major reveal. Should PAX East not harbor any major announcements from Bethesda Softworks, we're sure that E3 – which happens in June – will.
