Back in November, we learned that Nintendo had decided it was time to work alongside Let's Players through an initiative that allows monetization of Nintendo coverage with the company's consent. That initiative, now known as Nintendo Creators Program, has just entered beta, and it promises to split revenue with YouTube video makers — 70% for entire channels and 60% for individual videos.
Nintendo has provided a list of its games that are eligible under the program. Amazingly, these aren't restricted to titles released on Wii U and 3DS — we've got games stretching all the way back to the NES era, and there are even Japanese games on the list too! Even with such a massive list, some games like EarthBound are conspicuously absent, but I'm sure Nintendo will continue to expand the list over time.
You can read more details regarding the Nintendo Creators Program here, but the short story is that you can pretty much do whatever coverage you please, whether it be positive or negative. Nintendo is taking a hands-off approach, but at the very least, being a member will ensure that you never get the dreaded Content ID flag.
