CD Projekt RED has shared once again a new batch of screenshots for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, as well as a new trailer for the global hands-on.
After all the talk of a possible downgrade following repeated delays, this should assuage any such fears. The graphics are on par with a Hollywood CG production. Consider that those projects are non-interactive affairs, and as such make the most of what’s possible in terms of rendering and framerate for CG animation.
The pics show Geralt in different contexts; entering another town, giving chase to a wyvern, meeting up with all the different people of local color, and giddily tossing a satchel of coins.
Of course, CG animation for movies and for games uses the same animation techniques, but there has always been a difference in scale. With The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it seems that CD Projekt RED has caught up with what’s expected from, and even taken for granted, with CG movies.
CD Projekt RED also shared a teaser trailer for the upcoming previews coming from the press this week. As you can see, the game’s graphics holds up in motion.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on May 19, 2015. You can see the trailer above and the image gallery below.
