Thanks to a new translation, we have new details on Final Fantasy 15: Episode Duscae, from a prior interview with Hajime Tabata.
We know from this prior interview that the demo won’t let you drive, so you can experience more of the game world instead of spending time driving. Tabata elaborated further that there is a part of the game where you actually are unable to use the car, and when you get there, you should instantly recognize it.
Tabata also emphasized just how action oriented this game is, and how important it was for the devs that players got to experience the battle system. With this in mind, they actually shrunk the world in the demo considerably, so that you would have about two hours’ worth of content to find. The actual game will have a world several times larger.
While combat is front and center, it does mean graphics aren’t at 100 %. Subsequently, both magic and the summon system won’t be making it for the demo.
The demo will let you experience a cover system, allowing you to recover. Although it sounds reminiscent of Gears of War or Halo, Tabata says the actual inspiration was the Overdrive system from The 3rd Birthday.
One last thing about the demo: Cidney’s in it.
There is something else, however; Square Enix is also planning a technical demo for people who can’t buy Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for Episode Duscae. This one is still in the planning stage, so they have no details to share at the moment.
TheFinal Fantasy XV demo will be available as part of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Final Fantasy Type-0 HD will be available on March 17 in the US and March 20 in Europe.
