Spiders and Focus Home Interactive have revealed a new spinoff from the Mars: War Logs franchise. Introducing sci-fi RPG Technomancer.
You are one such technomancer, on a quest for artifacts and technology from lost Earth. In general sci-fi lore, technomancers use technology to gain magical powers. In this game, however, there is an additional quirk; all technomancers are mutants. This makes you a very unpopular person on Mars, and something your enemies can easily leverage against you.
There are six factions, including junk collecting trader Americans, and a Thieves faction. How you handle your layered, branching quests will definitely determine if you lean more towards certain factions over others.
There will also be a charisma mechanic to help you slide out of sticky situations, and a day/night cycle to add time limits to missions. You will also have five companions, all of whom can leave the party if you anger them with your actions.
Skill trees have expanded from Mars: War Logs, with four paths for stealth, shielded tank combat, two handed staff combat, and those technomancer powers. You can freely switch between the four in combat, and there is also a skill upgrade system, to power up your attacks, healing abilities, and more.
Spiders also promises an open, reactive world, with detailed environments and a large variety of enemies.
Spiders and Focus Home Interactive did not reveal any release dates or platforms, but it is most likely to appear on the same platform its predecessor did; Windows.
