There is a rumor that Dying Light may have been delayed again, for surprising reasons.
At the very least, the delay may be coming to France, and you can guess the reason why. Apparently, some scenes in the game are reminiscent of this month’s terror attacks in the country. Much like Battlefield: Hardline, Dying Light may be uncomfortably and unintentionally reflective of real life.
However, it may be instructive to note that the events that have made consumers uncomfortable with Battlefield: Hardline, namely, the shooting of Michael Brown and subsequent protests at Ferguson, happened after EA decided to delay the game. EA DICE’s decision was spurred by changes needed to be made after receiving feedback.
Most recently, this article has come up claiming that the game is definitely delayed for Australia. While it’s safe to assume any dates revealed here are hearsay for now, considering the details of the game, there is reason to believe Dying Light might really be delayed.
How do you think Warner Bros and Techland should deal with this possible controversy? Would it be better if they delayed the game? Should they consider cancelling its release, or going back to change much of the game? Share your thoughts with us in the comments.
Dying Light will be released on Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
