Microsoft has just won its very first Emmy award, thanks to the entertainment capabilities of the Xbox One.
The console was awarded a prize for its "industry-leading television-on-demand and media centre capabilities", including the OneGuide app which allows you to see what's coming up on TV and choose shows to watch while playing a game with the Snap feature. You do need to buy a separate TV tuner or pipe in your cable TV to use any of this however.
The Emmy Award for Television Enhancement Devices has previously been awarded to the likes of Apple, TiVo, Roku, and Sony. Announcing the win, Microsoft said it was "proud to be awarded this honour".
I'm just surprised Microsoft didn't win an Emmy for Halo Nightfall myself.
