Call of Duty Online, Activision and Tencent's China-only free-to-play game is now available to play in open beta forum.
"We've worked closely with our partner at Tencent, and we've challenged one of our most trusted and talented development teams of Raven Software to create a true Call of Duty experience tailored for the Chinese market," Activisition Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg commented. "Throughout testing, the community feedback has been tremendous. We couldn't be more excited and we look forward to winning the hearts and minds of a new community in China."
Numerous publishers have formed partnerships with Tencent in recent years due to China's rules overseeing international investment in the country. In turn, Tencent has invested in several Western game makers, including Epic Games, Riot Games, and its Call of Duty Online partner, Activision.
A trailer for Call of Duty Online was recently released featuring Captain America star Chris Evans.
