Over the last several weeks, Grand Theft Auto 5's Steam page has been altered several times – it first dated the game for January, then said the open world title was "coming soon", it now says "early 2015".
However, Rockstar has moved to deny that the game's launch date on PC has been pushed back. An official spokesperson commented on the studio's official forum:
"GTA5 will be coming to PC on January 27th. We have not announced any changes to this date at this time."
Before Christmas, Rockstar promised to reveal the game's specs but have failed to do so to date. Neither of these things would be especially strange, were it not for the fact that GTA5 is supposed to be out before the end of the month.
Steam is usually correct when it comes to release dates, sometimes even having unlock times for different regions, so it would be interesting to know the reasoning behind the changes on the game's page. It's notable that Rockstar's comment does not preclude the possibility of a change to the launch date over the next few weeks, but hopefully that won't happen.
