In October 2013, the Pokemon Company offered evidence of an upcoming 3DS Pokemon spin-off in which you play as a detective with a Pikachu as your sidekick. The game, which lacked a proper title at the time, was still in its prototype stage, though the company hoped to have it finished by 2015. And, well, here we are in 2015. Should we be expecting an update anytime soon?
Details regarding the game are slim, but the few screens demonstrated how players would use a magnifying glass to examine the environment. There's also a Pokemon project in which Pikachu mimics the player's facial expressions, possibly using the 3DS camera — it's not too much of a stretch to suggest that this and the detective game are one and the same.
Anything could have happened over the last year. Has the game undergone a wild transformation? Has it been delayed? Has it been canceled outright? In any case, if 2015 was the original target, we should be getting some sort of response any day now.
