Sony Computer Entertainment and Samsung have announced a partnership which will see PlayStation TV included with Samsung Smart TVs during the first half of 2015.
The PlayStation Now will be included as an app in Samsung's Smart Hub, and will allow TV owners to play hundreds of PS3 games streamed over the cloud using a DualShock 4 controller, which will be sold separately.
Those who use the app will be able to earn in-game trophies and play online with others. Game saves will be uploaded to the cloud. If you're attending CES 2015 next month, you'll be able to test it out for yourself.
Masayasu Ito, Executive VP of Sony Computer Entertainment, was quoted by The Verge as commenting "partnering with Samsung is a key step toward realizing this vision, as we can reach a broader audience of consumers who may not own a PlayStation console to show them why gaming with PlayStation is such a unique and amazing experience."
PS Now streaming is currently limited to the United States and Canada, and only PlayStation 3 games are available, but more than 200 titles are still available and Sony says the service will eventually support PS4 titles. Sony has been criticised for the prices of PS Now games, and it's unclear if those with the in-built app will be charged the same rates.
PS Now can currently be accessed from PlayStation devices and some Bravia TVs.
