Who says fighting games can't do good business on handhelds? Capcom has just updated its list of million-selling titles, which is now accurate up to September 2014. One of the more surprising entries is Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition, which has increased from 1.1 million to 1.2 million since the list was last updated.
The various versions of Street Fighter IV have sold as follows:
Street Fighter IV (PS3, Xbox 360, DL): 3.3 million
Super Street Fighter IV (PS3, Xbox 360, DL): 1.9 million
Super Street Fighter IV: 3D Edition (3DS, DL): 1.2 million
Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition (PS3, Xbox 360, DL): 1.1 million
If you were to split the home console versions of Super Street Fighter IV apart, the 3DS version would be the best selling of all three. That's quite impressive for a platform that hasn't been served a steady diet of Street Fighter updates.
In total, every release of Street Fighter IV has sold at least 7.5 million combined, not counting PC sales or the upcoming Ultra revision. That may not come close to Street Fighter II's combined sales, but what does, honestly?
