Microsoft Studios has confirmed Riptor as the latest character who is set to join the cast of Killer Instinct Season 2.
In an interview with GameSpot, Adam Isgreen and Torin Rettig of Microsoft Game Studios, said bringing Riptor back was something they've wanted to do for a long time.
"From the moment we wrapped our season one characters, we knew that Riptor was going to be in season 2. We've been talking about putting her in for quite a while," Isgreen said.
"We always planned for KI to be seasonal, to approach it that way, as opposed to the way most fighting games approach their releases, so rather that just put every awesome character in season one, thinking long term, we want to save some of the more popular characters for season two, season three, and onward, and Riptor fell into that category," he added. "We wanted her to be one of the anchors for season 2"
Riptor is the fifth character to be confirmed for Season 2, which adds to the roster already introduced by Season 1. The other characters are TJ Combo, Maya, Cinder, and brand new fighter Kan-Ra (a 2000 year-old mummy).
The Killer Instinct Season 2 Ultra Edition will be available from December 17th, when players will be able to get their hands on Riptor.
