Halo: The Master Chief Collection’s latest update finally brings back SWAT, albeit in a limited capacity.
SWAT is now the featured playlist, and 343 Industries has brought in various gametypes from Halo 2: Anniversary, Halo 2, and Halo 4. They will add Halo 3 back in in the future, as well as other playlists, including Halo: CE, Halo 4, Team Hardcore. There are also more playlists coming in the future, such as Team Doubles and Team Snipers. 343 will continue to use player feedback, as well as voting data, to determine what playlists are added and stay in rotation.
SWAT, along with Team Slayer, Halo 2 Classic, Halo 3, and Halo Championship Series playlists, have all been updated so that you can play a minimum 6v6 and a maximum 4v4.
Big Team Battle isn’t ready to go up to eight simultaneous players yet, but they have raised the max party size from four to six. They will bring it back up to eight after all issues connected to that max size have been fixed.
Speaking of voting, voting options have been updated in the playlists so that the BR-start and objective game type options are clearer and easier to vote on.
343 also promises that the ranked Halo 2: Anniversary playlist will go to 4v4. While the playlist has many medium sized maps, they are allowing 5v5 temporarily, but with more voting options. As of right now, you can also search as a party of five. Eventually, they will make ranking online for more, better suited playlists.
