Yesterday’s PlayStation Experience event brought with it several indie announcements, some of which may surprise you.
Most high profile among these is Shovel Knight, which released first on Nintendo platforms, and then PC. The reveal trailer showed off the overclocked look of the game on PS4, as well as its first console exclusive content; God of War’s Kratos. It appears that Kratos was added as a new boss rather than a playable character.
Killing Floor 2 is Tripwire Interactive’s debut on consoles, and they have chosen to bring it to PS4. You can learn more about the game and its premise here.
Gang Beasts, published by Double Fine, is a four player party game featuring brightly colored, gelatinous-like humanoids, in melee winner-takes-all matches in various hazardous environments.
Severed is the odd man out, a Vita exclusive using only touch controls. Drinkbox Studios’ Metroidlike adventure has you playing a one-armed woman warrior fighting malevolent creatures to uncover her lost memories.
Skytorn is a procedurally generated action adventure, set in a crumbling floating world.
Finally, Super Time Force Ultra is an updated version of Capybara Games’ time traveling side scrolling shooter. This PS4 port introduces a hilarious exclusive; PS exec Shuhei Yoshida has been added as a playable character, using his smartphone as a deadly weapon.
