Far Cry 4 has a lot of people in heated debate. While the game features some very potent gameplay and graphics, it fails to deliver the same level of craftsmanship in its plot. For a game that's looking to take Game of the Year this weekend, it's hard to overlook this problem. While most of the voting and such has probably already been done, some news that affects the game's quality has come out today.
Apparently, a new patch published for Far Cry 4 removes the sun's rays that fall down through the trees. A video, which shows the difference from patch to patch, calls these products of the sun 'God rays.' While we're not sure if this is just a glitch or Ubisoft thought the game looked better removing them, fans are still curious what exactly happened.
From what we can tell, there's also a change in the way the sun looks. As you can actually see the sun because they removed the God rays, you can tell what it looks like. Furthermore, it appears that a 'glow' effect has been added to barrell of your gun. Whether we're just seeing things because we're not focused on the rays anymore or these are actual changes, I don't know.
Far Cry 4 is still one of the most beautiful games available for purchase right now, so don't let 'God rays' deter you from buying into the experience. That would just be silly.
