Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Snowblind Studios have announced today the official release date for The Lord of the Rings: War in the North. Set for a November 1, 2011 release, the new game, based on the LOTR films and novels, will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
The game also comes in Collector’s Edition format, which includes a behind-the-scenes look at how the game was made, an art book, and digital download content.
Developed by Snowblind Studios, War in the North is an action RPG with a 3-player co-op system where gamers must battle, explore, and journey together, balancing their strengths and weaknesses as a fellowship of Human, Elf and Dwarf.
In Lord of the Rings: War in the North, players will be transported into unknown lands, unexplored in the film. The game’s storyline intertwines with the characters and storyline of both the novel and the films, taking place parallel to the events of the Ring Bearer’s quest.
Additionally, War in the North will be featured at both Gamescom in Germany and PAX Prime in Seattle, this August.
