Super Smash Bros 4 Roundup Of The Week: Master Fortress, Temple, Mario Circuit, And More

November 14, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Sakurai laments this close to release that he can’t really explain Smash Tour in full detail.

On Monday, Sakurai revealed that you can take on Master enemies cooperatively in Classic Mode, with the caveat that those enemies will be powered up appropriately. However, the enemy Master Fortress can only be faced in single player. Defeating Master Fortress requires you to take out his heartlike cores.

On Tuesday, we got our first look at the Temple stage in full HD.  Contrary to expectations, this stage is not based on any one particular game inThe Legend of Zelda series, but it is reminiscent of many of them. Sakurai says the only change they made to the stage was the text, but he is staying cryptic abouot what it means. We also got a look at Link’s Fierce Deity alternate colors, itself a reference to Majora’s Mask, whose 3DS remake was just recently announced.

On Wednesday, the very insane looking Mario Circuit stage was revealed. It is based on the track of the same name in the Flower Cup for Mario Kart 8. The course flips upside down, but the fighters stay on a floating platform, just like the Wii Sports Resort and Pilotwings stages. You will see racers, particularly Shy Guys, racing across the track, even flipping, the whole time.

On Thursday, Sakurai shared the screens for Movies mode. Here, you will be able to see the fighter introductions, as well as the endings, after you unlock them.

Today Sakurai griped about how hard it is to explain Smash Tour. He suggests fans play with it at least three times to really get the whole concept behind it.

But, he went ahead and shared more details on the mode. You can choose between small, normal, and big boards. You can also turn on custom fighters so that fighters are preset with custom special moves. The number on a fighter’s portrait determined what custom move set he or she is using.

Super Smash Bros will be released for Wii U exactly one week from today, on November 28.
