Diablo 3 Patch 2.1.0a Arrives for PS4 and Xbox One, Fixes Some Small Issues

November 12, 2014 by Jacob Saylor

Blizzard has published a new update that fixes some smaller problems plaguing Diablo 3.

Fans around the globe fell in love with Diablo 3 after its release in May 2012. Though, it could be argued that its release was one of the many plagued by a ton of post launch problems. Servers were lagging and failing to operate as intended over the first week or so of its lifespan, and there were a ton of bugs in game. While I don't think there were many of us who actually thought that the game would stay in this disheveled state, it still proves to be a pretty important lesson, teaching us that games on the scale of Diablo 3 will need some adjustment time. In fact, there are many games much smaller than Diablo 3 requiring a lot of maintenance after release.

Over two years later, and here we are. There have been numerous updates to Diablo 3, all stacked widely upon the various iterations of the title. Diablo 3 has found its way on to most of the main consoles at this point, which creates a pretty interesting development dynamic for Blizzard Entertainment to deal with. However, they've proven time and time again that they are up to the task, as they consistently publish strong updates and patches for the game. Patch 2.1.0a will look to continue this trend of quality development, as it fixes a number of issues on both the Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions of Diablo 3.

Though they are small, here are the patch notes:

General:

  • Slaying a Nemesis monster will now generate a Legendary gift for your avenged friends instead of a Rare gift
  • The required gem level for enchanting Amulets and Rings has been reduced from Flawless Imperial to Imperial

Bug Fixes:

  • Monks should no longer become randomly stuck or be unable to move for extended periods of time
  • The Merciless Witch should no longer be sometimes un-killable
