FF XIII-2 Releasing On PC December, Both FF XIII Games Getting Graphics Options

November 12, 2014 by Ryan Parreno

Square Enix will eventually roll out resolutions for all players, to run the games possibly on 4K or even 8K.

Square Enix has announced the PC release of Final Fantasy XIII-2 this coming December 11.

The game is already available to preorder via Steam, as well as Square Enix’s own online store, for $ 19.99. Preordering means you get features such as 60FPS support from launch, Japanese audio with subtitles, and customizable rendering resolution.

This follows an earlier announcement that Final Fantasy XIII will itself get customizable rendering resolutions by the end of December. You can choose to upscale from 720p, 1080p, and presumably go upwards to 4K and maybe even 8K.

Square Enix seems to be promising DLC from the console version will be bundled as well, but I think gating away some features, such as graphics options, is not a good idea. But, perhaps Square is still working on these features and will roll them out to all users when they’re ready. I’m sure some fans are looking forward to playing the game in 4K, and possibly even 8K.

You can read the game’s system requirements below.
