Turtle Rock Studios has delayed the Evolve Big Alpha, but only for PlayStation 4 owners.
Turtle Rock explains that this stems mainly from issues with the PlayStation 4 2.00 firmware update. Codenamed Masamune, the update promised a host of features, including playing custom soundtracks for games via USB and uploading gameplay videos over YouTube. However, its release was also marred with multiple issues, including a bug that keeps the console from waking from Rest Mode.
Turtle Rock apologized and confirmed that they are working with Sony to fix the problem soon. However, if you happen to own a PlayStation 4 and also an Xbox One, or a capable PC, you can switch your code to get into the Big Alpha earlier on one of those platforms instead. Full instructions are available here.
As of right now, the Big Alpha is already ongoing for Xbox One and PC, and Turtle Rock are actively fixing matchmaking issues for the PC version. On the side, if you happen to own XCOM on Steam, you can also get into the alpha. Instructions are available in your Steam library.
