Big Huge Games, which folded two years ago after the closure of 38 Studios, is back with members of the original team behind games like Civilization and Rise of Nations announcing their first game, DomiNations for iOS and Android devices.
Nexon is publishing the strategy title, which is due for release next year and Brian Reynolds, co-founder of the studio and the developer who retook possession of the Big Huge Games name when it was auctioned by the state of Rhode Island to recoup the loses from loans to 38 Studios told Polygon that "[Big Huge Games] represented something we were really fond of. We had a lot of success and good times … that's something that reminds us of happy times, and I think might remind some of our former fans."
DomiNations, which will be free-to-play, sees players control a civilization from the Stone Age onwards, expand territory, and conquer rival nations. Reynolds says there are currently no plans to bring the game to PC or consoles, but this may change in future.
