A few days ago, we learned that Oddworld Inhabitants and Just Add Water were having trouble getting Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! to fit on the Wii U Basic's meager 8GB of space, thus delaying its release. The truth is, aside from the already released PS4 build, all versions of the game have been facing setbacks. Thankfully, the team delivered an update on their statuses yesterday.
The Windows, OS X, and Linux versions are essentially complete, although they'll require a couple more months of optimization and possibly a private Steam beta. The PS3 and PS Vita versions have been bottlenecked by the hardwares' RAM, while several visual effects are not up to snuff, but the team remains committed to getting these builds out soon. The Xbox One version has barely begun development, so we all have to sit tight for a while. And finally, the team has decided that trying to get the Wii U version to fit on the Basic console is not a big concern as originally thought, but its progress is nonetheless tied with the PS3 and Vita versions' development, plus there is a function in the Unity engine that's currently not supported on Wii U.
We'll keep an ear out as work on New 'n' Tasty! persists.
