Durante, the modder most well known for fixing Dark Souls’ many graphical and presentation issues on the PC, has taken his talents to Square Enix’s newly released Final Fantasy XIII.
The tool he released for Final Fantasy XIII on the PC, titled GeDoSaTo, is a barebones application that serves to fix the resolution issues—allowing the game to render at resolutions as high as 3840×2160 (4K). The tool provides arbitrary rendering and presentation resolutions at an aspect ratio of 16:9.
The GeDoSaTo tool’s primary purpose is to allow for downsampling without any limitations and with high quality filtering, but in the case of Final Fantasy XIII, which renders at a maximum resolution of 720p, the tool can be used to render the game at resolutions of 1080p and above.
Furthermore, the tool provides keybinds to allow players to hide the heads-up display (HUD) to take screenshots in the game.
