Operation Flashpoint, Mafia Developers Form New Studio

July 26, 2011 by Ian Miles Cheong

A new Prague-based studio has been founded by some of the leads who worked on Mafia and Operation Flashpoint.

A new studio called Warhorse has been founded by members of the development teams behind the Operation Flashpoint titles and the Mafia series. The studio, based in Prague, is currently working on an unnamed RPG.

"There is a common thread running through our previous games: open worlds, strong storyline and, last but not least, realistic design.

"We can proudly say that the games Mafia and Operation Flashpoint were the vanguard of this approach and millions of players worldwide clearly share our view. Even if our new project is different in many respects, it is a game that is not going to disappoint fans of open realistic worlds and quality stories."

The studio is being lead by Mafia director and lead designer Daniel Vávra, who's joined by Dragon's Lair author Martin Klíma and Operation Flashpoint designer Viktor Bocan.
