Firaxis Games have revealed the system requirements for Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth on Steam.
Firaxis earlier clarified that Beyond Earth would not have strategic view, a feature that originally allowed players to observe and play Civilization games with a bigger map. Strategic view did not just allow players to manage events in the map all at once. It also allowed them to run the game on lower end PCs, as detailed graphics were unnecessary on this view.

These system requirements reveal Firaxis has purposely planned the game for detailed graphics on mid range and high end configurations, leaving lower end PCs out entirely. Not only is DirectX 11 a requirement, the game also requires graphics cards at the level of the Nvidia 8800 GT, and these are the minimum specs. Other requirements are at relatively lower bars, such as 2 GB RAM and a 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo.
