We haven't heard too much new information regarding Nintendo's new third-person shooter Splatoon since its E3 debut. Thankfully, the game was on demo at the Eurogamer Expo this past weekend, and the Eurogamer team was able to share some footage of their hands-on time.
As is Nintendo's MO, Splatoon is not your typical shooter. You control half-squid, half-human children who fire ink cannons in an attempt to cover as much territory with their team's color as possible. You can transform into a squid and swim through your own ink, allowing you to even scale walls, but while in human form, walking through enemy ink will slow down your movements significantly. It's equal parts Super Mario Sunshine, de Blob, and Jet Grind Radio — a breath of fresh air in a rather stale genre.
Splatoon is scheduled for Wii U in 2015.
