Chris Roberts has shared a new letter regarding Star Citizen, revealing that, in fact, there will continue to be stretch goals, as funding has passed the $ 54 million mark.
That extra million came from almost 10,000 new citizens who pledged since Roberts’ last letter. In between that time, Cloud Imperium worked on a new trailer as well, showing off a new multicrew bomber, the Retaliator.
These are what Roberts pledges will be added with $ 54 million in funding, for free to everyone:
· New AI characters, including nurses, bartenders, guards, vagrants, vandals, etc.
· Preacher’s Inquisition XXII, a new ballistic gatling with dual ammo feeds.
Roberts then named these new stretch goals, for fans to vote on, for when they reach $ 56 million.
· Dragon Stellar STC Silver engine, which has some inferior components, but is worth the speed boost for some players.
· Broad & Rabiee Quietech M120, a new quantum vortex power plant to install in your ship. Handles general purpose ship travel with low emmissions, assuming you aren’t doing anything too exciting.
· Tarsus Leaper Jump Engine, a new jump drive that will work with your onboard NavDrive. It also comes with its own scanning software to help you seek out some undiscovered country.
It is likely that as Star Citizen continues to make money, Cloud Imperium Games will just keep adding content. Star Citizen’s first modules are expected to be released in 2015, exclusively for PC, on Windows and Linux.
