Heavy Bullets Goes Live on Steam, Free Copies for Early Access Buyers

September 18, 2014 by Ian Miles Cheong

Heavy Bullets has just been released as a final version on Steam.

Heavy Bullets, an arcade shooter from Terri Vellmann and Devolver Digital, has just gone live on Steam as a full release title.

The game was originally available as a Steam Early Access title, allowing the developer to polish the game ahead of its release. As thanks, players who purchased Heavy Bullets during Early Access will be given an additional free giftable copy of the game in their Steam inventory.

Heavy Bullets is a procedurally generated first-person shooter that arms players with a simple yet stylish revolver that fires six bullets with the stated goal of “resetting the security mainframe to restore order and reap the rewards of a job well done.” In more simple terms, the game involves shooting things while making smart use of their bullets, items, and the environment. It’s not your standard run-and-gun title and requires quite a bit of tactical considerations.

During the Early Access development period, developer Terri Vellmann and musician Doseone made frequent iterations to Heavy Bullets based on deep and thorough feedback from the community. Input from Early Access players influenced everything from changes to visuals and lighting through level progression to tweaks to the synchronization of the dynamic soundtrack from moment to moment.

“Early Access turned out to be a fantastic experience and genuinely helped make Heavy Bullets a better game,” said developer Terri Vellmann. “Huge thanks to the community and dedicated fans that took such great care with their feedback over these past few months.”

The game is available for $9.99 via Steam, the Humble Store, and other digital download services with a 15% launch week discount.
