Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS has arrived in Japan, immediately breaking a million units sold. The public American demo comes out in three days, while the full American release drops in two and a half weeks. Everyone is certainly excited to finally get their hands on this long-awaited title — but where does that leave the daily updates on Miiverse and the Smash Bros. homepage? Seeing what new features director Masahiro Sakurai was willing to share has become a regular routine for hungry fans.
Good news, everyone! The daily updates will continue, just don't expect a lot of new information to come out. As Sakurai explains:
Though he says that the Pic of the Day won't focus on unrevealed features in the near future, I hope he'll still drop some big bombs closer to the Wii U version's launch. These last few weeks have been dedicated to the 3DS version — there's a lot we don't know about the home console counterpart, like what kind of campaign mode it wil have in place of Smash Run.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS comes out on October 3. The Wii U build is set for a winter release.
