Microsoft could probably be forgiven for wanting everyone to quietly forget about the Xbox 360 and upgrade to the Xbox One this winter but it seems they haven't forgotten about it entirely, having today announced three new bundles for the system, all of which will launch on Tuesday, October 7th.
Mike Nichols, CVP of Marketing for Xbox, commented, “These new bundles for holiday shoppers, new lower price points and new special edition blue console are sure to delight gamers young and old this holiday.”
A Walmart scan suggested the blue 360 was coming but now we have official confirmation from the Xbox Wire. Both the 500GB Holiday Value Bundle and the Special Edition Blue Bundle will include a console, controller, and copies of Call of Duty: Ghosts and Black Ops 2. The two bundles are set to retail for $249.
The 4GB Kinect Bundle meanwhile includes the sensor, a copy of Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures, and Forza Horizon and will also go on sale for $249.
Those looking to pick up the Blue Bundle will need to go to Walmart while the Kinect Bundle will be on sale in Target. It seems the Holiday Value Bundle will be available generally.
Microsoft says these bundles will be made available at outside the U.S. but you will need to check with local retailers.
