The Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire overview trailer mostly went through details that we already knew about before. There are some new details to gleam, mostly in and around the newly unveiled locations.
The trailer gave fans a first look at many of the Ruby and Sapphire locations in 3D. Pacifidlog Town, the Desert Ruins, and others were reimagined and look great.
The parts of the game where you meet Maxie in the Oceanic Museum, and meeting Archie in Meteor Falls, were also expanded, with highly improved presentation. The Team Aqua sub itself was redesigned to look like a Sharpedo.
Other locations we got a look at where Mt. Pyre ,Mossdeep City, Sootopolis City. Sootopolis will be getting new puzzles.
The preview for Safari Zone shows the Trainers can do a trick while on their bikes; a bunny hop, which will allow them to move upwards.
The scene which shows your rival Steven Stone staring at a mural in a cave. The cave drawings depict in clearer detail how Primal Groudon wreaked havoc in ancient times.
Groudon and Kyogre themselves appear to have their skin cracking prior to turning into their Primal forms. These could be a hint on how their Primal Reversion transformations occur. The traileralso shows them getting encased in crystal before breaking from it to finish their transformation.
Our cover image is from a completely new location, and our source speculates this could be the path to going to the Elite Four. In particular, this may be Syd’s gym. The embers falling from the sky resemble those found in Syd when you face him and his Shiftry.
What is also interesting is what the trailer does not show, which is any of the locations from Emerald. Are they even a part of this game, or is Game Freak saving them for a full Emerald remake?
Aside from the locations, we also got a preview of diving, and the Trainer is clearly shown riding on top of a Wailmer, which is also the Pokemon used in the preview for surfing. Wailmer mau now be the default Pokemon for these actions.
The most mysterious scene in the trailer shows the Trainer sneaking in the grass to catch a Pikachu. Is it just another way to find a Pikachu, or could it be something more important, such as a new Steven Stone encounter?
Overall, there is no reason to believe that Game Freak made any changes to the original Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire story. This would just make it even more astounding If it turns out that they put a twist in the story, but if they did, they haven’t dropped any hints.
