Remedy is still looking to return to its 2010 horror game, Alan Wake, despite currently developing Quantum Break for Xbox One.
Speaking to Xbox Achievements, Remedy Creative Director Sam Lake said a sequel will be developed “when the time is right”.
“We’re really, really proud of all the games we have made," Lake remarked. "And obviously all of them are dear to us. They have a special place in our hearts."
“You never know about the future and as have we have said about Alan Wake, the sequel didn't work out at this point. But definitely we are looking for opportunities to do more, someday, when the time is right.”
By March 2012, Alan Wake had sold two million copies on Xbox 360 and PC and three million by May 2013. While console sales were slow, it seems Remedy is happy with how it performed and they did release spin-off Alan Wake: America Nightmare two years ago although that was a rather less enjoyable experience.
Presumably Remedy would be happy to stick with Microsoft in terms of console exclusivity but presumably that will be announced if and when the game is.
