Shulk was revealed last week in a special Super Smash Bros Direct. This week, Sakurai went back to the business of highlighting the many features of the 3DS version.
On Monday, Sakurai shared a picture of Riki, another character from Xenoblade Chronicles. RIki is both an Assist Trophy and part of Shulk’s Final Smash. As a trophy, he can use many abilities, such as Yoink, Happy, Happy, and Freezinate. Sakurai also pointed out the cursor’s appearing on top of the Assist Trophies and Pokemon to show which player is using it.
On Tuesday, we covered All-Star Mode from the 3DS version. You can learn all about it here.
On Wednesday, it was revealed that each character would have four color variations. They used armored Samus Aran as an example, showing off her Varia Suit, Fusion Suit, and Gravity Suit from Super Metroid, the Gravity Suit from Metroid Prime, the Dark Suit and Light Suit from Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Dark Samus, and Green Samus, which does not appear in any Metroid game, but is a regular in Smash Bros.
The Animal Crossing Villager actually has different playable Villagers. The cover image above shows the other four, unrevealed Villagers.
On Thursday, we covered Run, another mode from the 3DS version. You can learn all about it here.
Finally, today Sakurai shed even more light on the 3DS option screen. If you click on Games & More, you get to choose the minigames separately. You can choose between playing solo, multiplayer, and custom rules. This is also an ideal place to train.
Sakurai went out of his way to point out Stadium mode, which you can enter after choosing Solo. Stadium Mode is where you can play the Home-Run Contest, Target Blast, and many Multi-Man Smash challenges.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS arrives October 3. The Wii U version will be released this holiday.
