Konami has some fighting words for EA this year as we get ready to once again see PES and FIFA face off with their latest instalments.
Speaking to NowGamer, PES European brand manager Adam Bhatti claimed that PES 2015 has better goalkeepers and shooting and is generally more realistic. Assistant producer Klaus Garner went even further, comparing FIFA 15 to ping-pong.
“We have a game that lets you play real football; you can play counter-attacking, possession, long-ball. Which you can’t do in the other title, where it’s more like ping-pong.”
Bhatti added that “FIFA is all about scoring goals”, and that EA Canada designs the game to fulfil the desires of “a lot of people [who] just want to be able to score goals and have their lobbed-through ball work every time”.
The implication here seems to be that PES 2015 requires a finer touch to master but in the interview Bhatti did admit that PES has suffered as a result of being seen as a “connoisseur’s football game” which excludes many potential players.
You could wait and see how the two level up next month, PES 2015 is getting a demo a week ahead of FIFA 15's retail release, or you can watch the comparison video of the two games below thanks to the WorldOfPES YouTube account.
FIFA 15 is designed for accessibility and pick-up-and-play gaming while PES 2015 is more of a simulation of football with a steep learning curve and deeper tactical experience. There's really no wrong choice as it's a matter of preference.
You probably already know which game you're going for but take a look at the video above and see which you think looks more interesting.
PES 2015 launches on November 23rd while FIFA 15 will be available in North America from September 23rd and in Europe from September 25th onwards.
