In 2011, the independently developed game To The Moon tugged at our heartstrings. Its creator, Kan "Reives" Gao, is back with a new “simple, wordless story” called A Bird Story.
Gao and his studio Freebird Games announced the release date today through the launch of a two-minute trailer that sets the game up as a “simple, wordless story about a kid who found an injured bird.” You can watch it below.
Together with his feathered friend, the boy goes on an adventure that blurs the line between reality and imagination.
A little like Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, A Bird Story is the bridging episode between episode 1 (To the Moon) and episode 2 of the series, as the boy would grow up to be the elderly patient in episode 2. However, the game is made to be self-contained.
An original soundtrack composed by Kan (with possible additional contribution) will accompany the game, with preview tracks available at this address.
The game will be out on the PC, Mac and Linux.
