It's the big shocker of Gamescom so far. Square Enix has revealed in the official Tomb Raider tumblr that Rise Of The Tomb Raider is completely exclusive to Xbox One. Nope, not even PC.
In the same post Crystal Dynamics Head of Studios Darrell Gallagher touted Microsoft's support for the game, saying they see huge potential in it, and they tout this as a step to making Tomb Raider the biggest brand in gaming.
Darrell also says that PC and Playstation 4 users will still get Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, and Lara Croft: The Definitive Edition for Playstation 4, and that is it.
While I am sure Playstation 4 and PC owners may be angry, I find myself more baffled by this announcement more than anything. We know that 2013's Tomb Raider did not meet sales targets, and needed to catch up to those goals through the rest of the year, as well as get ported to PS4 and Xbox One, for Square Enix to be happy with sales. So why this? Why only one platform, and the 8th generation console with the lowest install base at that?
