Tekken X Street Fighter producer Katsushiro Harada says that the game isn’t being cancelled despite rumors to the contrary. The game was first announced at the San Diego Comic-Con four years ago and has remained in development limbo ever since.
Speaking at this weekend’s SDCC event, Harada said that the game remains in development and despite all appearances, continues to move forward.
Developed by Namco, Tekken X Street Fighter is not to be confused with its Capcom-developed counterpart, Street Fighter X Tekken.
"It is proceeding," said Harada in an interview with Polygon. "It hasn't been cancelled, so please relax."
Fans of the series got a brief glimpse of Ryu in Tekken X Street Fighter’s new engine after it was publicly shown at the Cologne, Germany event Gamescom in 2010. However, development of the game had not yet actually begun.
