In an interview with USA Today, Alien's Signourney Weaver has discussed returing to play Ellen Ripley in the Creative Assembly's Alien Isolation.
Despite the 17 years gap since the release of Alien: Resurrection in 1997, Weaver says it was surprisingly easy to get back in character:
"It was eerie, because it was like no time had passed. I opened my mouth and Ripley started talking. I think after four films where I played Ripley, it's somehow part of my DNA now, and I didn't really expect that to be."
Weaver, and other member of the original movie's cast, are set to appear in two Nostromo-based pre-order DLC missions titled, Crew Expendable and Last Survivor. Publisher SEGA has since confirmed that the missions will eventually be made available to everyone.
Speaking of her role in the game and the narrative being told, she commented:
"I was very impressed with the seriousness of the way they approached the story, the characters, the environment, all these tiny touches. I thought, 'yeah, I'd like to do that! I really don't think of it as a video game. I think of it as a video experience that I as an actor — got to enter this world and do what I do."
Alien Isolation launches on October 7th for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. You can watch the trailer for the Ripley DLCs here.
