The Pokemon Company has put together a video showcasing the Secret Bases gameplay feature that’s set to make a return in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Secret Bases allow you to customize your own little area in the game and recruit non-player character pals to join you in your adventures.
As depicted in the video, the Secret Base returns with more features than ever before, allowing you to fully decorate the area with puzzles, mood lighting, decor, and more.
It will also be possible to visit your friends’ Secret Bases after connecting with them. You’ll be able to check out what they look like or challenge their custom Pokemon Gym in their Secret Base.
As for recruiting new friends, you’ll be able to have new characters join your crew. You can scout for trainers and invite them by visiting other Secret Bases, and they’ll join you as “Secret Pals”. You’ll be able to interact and battle with them, and even give your crew a name. SEcret Pals will confer all sorts of benefits, including helping you hatch your Pokemon eggs faster.
Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire comes out this November for Nintendo 3DS.
